This webinar focuses on the physical and mental health impact that working and serving in a prison environment has on staff and volunteers including prison ministers. For prison ministers, a keen awareness and understanding of this impact is crucial so that they intentionally engage in self-care and spiritual practices that counter cynicism, burnout, and correctional fatigue.
The presenters are Dr. Eileen Dombo and Fr. George Williams. Dr. Dombo is Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at National Catholic School of Social Service, The Catholic University of America. Her areas of expertise include trauma and moral injury. Fr. Williams is Catholic Chaplain at San Quentin State Prison in California and holds a doctorate in criminology from Northeastern.
